I thought the comments weren't posting right away because I'd messed up the settings or something.Chicoryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16504144663440678542noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3265566975813453385.post-32999659384097966832011-04-16T23:47:45.743-07:002011-04-16T23:47:45.743-07:00It's turning out to be a bit more trouble than...It's turning out to be a bit more trouble than I thought. It isn't handling email the way it should, tho as far as I can tell, the settings are right. I have an appointment to take my computer in to the store I bought it from on Monday. I'm supposed to tell the owner and the technician I talked to what the problems are, and they'll try to fix it. I hope they can without too much trouble. {cross fingers, Smile}

That's part of what distracted me from posting long enough that the last four comments - and, probably this one too - won't be shown until you approve them. I really didn't mean to wait that long... {rueful smile}

Anne Elizabeth BaldwinAnnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05083766769757259822noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3265566975813453385.post-77448251389518888642011-04-05T16:47:31.969-07:002011-04-05T16:47:31.969-07:00I'm glad it hasn't been too hazardous. :)...I'm glad it hasn't been too hazardous. :)Chicoryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16504144663440678542noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3265566975813453385.post-79093235523740564322011-04-04T01:53:13.095-07:002011-04-04T01:53:13.095-07:00Yes, upgrading can be a bit of a job. However, as ...Yes, upgrading can be a bit of a job. However, as long as you're just switching between flavors of Windows (or whatever operating system you use), it's usually not too bad. There are differences between the Windows 7 I have now and the Windows XP I had before, but there are a lot of similarities, too. {Smile}

Anne Elizabeth BaldwinAnnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05083766769757259822noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3265566975813453385.post-44364514077850466692011-04-02T16:00:47.699-07:002011-04-02T16:00:47.699-07:00I'm so glad for a reply -whenever it came. :) ...I'm so glad for a reply -whenever it came. :) And I'm really happy about your new computer. Upgrading can be quite an ordeal. I'm glad you know how to work it right away. (One thing that keeps me from upgrading my personal computer is the fear that I may have to re-learn some of my programs.)Chicoryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16504144663440678542noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3265566975813453385.post-51209215275928683702011-03-29T00:41:28.425-07:002011-03-29T00:41:28.425-07:00Yes, I think you're right. I had to take my comptuer in to the shop maybe two and a half weeks ago. It took them half a week to get to it, and a week and a half to fix up a new one. Then it took me almost a week to get it mostly working. So I'm finally on a comptuer that does what I want it to, and doesn't have to be shared with my father. That makes it so much easier to find time for thoughtful replies. {Smile}

Anne Elizabeth BaldwinAnnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05083766769757259822noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3265566975813453385.post-1767595825655272542011-03-11T13:06:21.086-08:002011-03-11T13:06:21.086-08:00This comment has been removed by the author.Chicoryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16504144663440678542noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3265566975813453385.post-63879914944554768892011-03-11T13:01:37.235-08:002011-03-11T13:01:37.235-08:00One of the things that makes them all really aweso...One of the things that makes them all really awesome is that even though they're comic characters, they still manage to be really deep. :)Chicoryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16504144663440678542noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3265566975813453385.post-54635911899848409722011-03-09T01:21:18.203-08:002011-03-09T01:21:18.203-08:00That is interesting. Dad talks about Gus Goose, another Disney character who might fall in the same category. I'm not sure he was a hero, but his main vice was being hungry all the time. He was always looking for food, or eating. {Smile}

I think you're right that less-than-perfect characters can appeal because they have to fight their own flaws. That gives us something to identify with, as well as giving hope when they succeed. {Smile}

Anne Elizabeth BaldwinAnnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05083766769757259822noreply@blogger.com
